In essence, the absence of systematic studies on the application impact of MAS&T has been the motivation for us to produce the work reported in this chapter. We describe the methods and results of a survey aiming at a comprehensive and upto-date overview of deployed examples of MAS&T. In Sect. 2, we define our notion of application impact and review approaches to describing and measuring it. Section 3 underlines method and settings of the survey. Results are described in Sect. 4. In Sect. 5, we provide an analysis of the most important vertical sectors (according to our survey) where MAS&T have developed impact.
